This position will involve a wide range of technical analysis duties within a fast paced, multi-tasking military organization.  A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work within a highly motivated, success-oriented team focused on the rapid development and evaluation of emerging technologies to address the operational requirements of the Army Special Operations Force. Critical characteristics include self-motivation, ability to work independently, professional communications, attention to detail, ability to follow through, and an affinity for change. Heavy emphasis will be placed on relationship development within Department of Defense and Government agencies, academia, and industry.

How you will make an impact:

The Senior Analyst is responsible for advising the US Army Special Operations Command Force Modernization Center (UFMC), Science and Technology Division personnel on emerging or disruptive technology developments relevant to the Army Special Operations Force and providing project management support for technology development initiatives.  A successful candidate will demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple technical domains, the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of ARSOF personnel (from enlisted personnel to General officers), self-motivation and the ability to work without direct supervision, and the ability to respond to short suspense tasks.

Responsibilities: 

  • Research and identify emerging technology trends that could impact ARSOF warfighting capabilities within a 5 to 10+ year horizon.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with technology providers from academia, industry, and Government organizations.
  • Provide general support to Government S&T project managers.
  • Review and analyze project documents, including technical approaches, work breakdown structures, cost proposals, schedules, technical risks, and assessment strategies.
  • Evaluate proposed technologies for technical feasibility and operational suitability.
  • Draft and review statements of work for S&T project acquisition initiatives.
  • Prepare documentation and maintain configuration control of performance parameters addressing Warfighter requirements.
  • Provide project management support, including preparing status reports and presentations, reviewing cost and schedule performance reports, test reports, and facilitating project working groups.
  • Attend meetings, prepare presentations, and document results.
  • Provide technical support to S&T projects, identifying potential solutions based on ARSOF missions and requirements, performing analysis of alternatives, and functional trade-offs.
  • Prepare project documentation such as nomination packages, management plans, schedules, spend plans, assessment strategies, and transition recommendations.
  • Develop assessment strategies for rapid evaluation of S&T projects.
  • Identify critical operational issues related to new technologies.
  • Draft evaluation documents, including Integrated Assessment Plans, surveys, and evaluation reports.

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum 12+ years experience in previous roles with strong Radio Communications or IT Networking skills, Bachelor's degree a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in commercial office automation software, including the MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and relevant engineering software tools.
  • Proficient in administrative procedures, including professional communication, document filing, and form management.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across military, academic, and industry sectors.
  • Skilled in advising and communicating with senior leadership, both in writing and verbally.
  • Facilitation skills for guiding leadership decision-making.
  • Active Secret Clearance with ability to gain a TS/SCI within 1 year of employment
  • Ability to work full time at our onsite facility located at Fort Liberty. 
Bonus points if:
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
  • Prior experience in a DoD environment.
  • Previous experience in military radio communications and networking.
  • PMP Certification.
